Logitech is offering its new universal remote from S$69 (US$50.16) to S$199 (US$144.67). The Harmony 300, 600, 650 and 700 can be easily programmed utilizing the company’s MyHarmony Web site which maintains an extensive repository of remote codes for 225,000 products from 5,000 manufacturers. The intuitive step-by-step procedure involves indicating the model of your equipment and downloading data through your Mac or PC onto the USB-connected controller. As a backup, there’s also a learning function for command keys not supported by Logitech’s database. The higher-end Harmony 600, 650 and 700 have additional LCD screens to show specialized commands and four activity-based controls such as “watch DVD” for one-touch operation of multiple devices. The Harmony 700 goes one step further with built-in rechargeable batteries instead of the regular AA cells.

Only a few months after the launch of the Nokia X6 comes its more compact sibling in the form of a 16GB model. The original X6 had 32GB of storage and has Comes with Music built-in, while the smaller model does not. Still, it retains that nice 3.2-inch wide-screen touch display from its bigger brother, plus it has the series 60 Symbian operating system, a 5.0-megapixel camera, dual-LED flash, it’s quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G, a Web browser with Flash Lite, GPS, and more. It also comes in four finishes: White with yellow, white with pink, all white, and all black. The new X6 is compatible with the new Ovi Maps, which offers free turn-by-turn navigation.

If you’ve been following the latest development for Bang and Olufsen’s uber premium HDTVs, its sleek BeoVision 10-40 may be nothing new. However, the company has just announced an upsized 46-incher featuring the same niceties offered by the smaller screen. These include a quality brushed-metal bezel and built-in hi-fi speakers, as well as 200Hz refresh rate and an LED-edgelit LCD panel. This model will be released in April, based on numerous online reports, though B&O has not included any pricing details so far. But for starters, blog site Engadget claims the BeoVision 10-40 is retailing at just under US$10,000–a price which is probably peanuts for the well-heeled Ferrari and Porsche crowd.
