The W700dsĀ  With dual displays–one 17-inch, and a second slide-out one at 10.6 inches–and a Wacom digitizer surface built in right next to the touchpad, the W700ds was the experimental supersize ThinkPad to satisfy the dreams of desktop replacement dual-monitor fetishists everywhere. Not only does a revamped W700ds finally seem to be nearing a US release, but these specs were leaked by Lenovo, according to ThinkPads.com. These slides certainly look official, but the specs lack any mention of a CPU. We do see some other key details, however: a whopping 16GB of DDR3 RAM, Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M graphics, dual hard drive/SSD drive bays, and built-in color calibration software.

Now, even arcade machines are jumping on the bandwagon. Konami is showcasing a special Metal Gear arcade this week at Japan’s Arcade Operator Union 2010 , which merges 3D with head-tracking technologies for motion control. Players do have to don a pair of 3D glasses with an attached camera in order to enable these functions, though the game realism is further enhanced with a full-sized rifle replica plus enveloping surround sound. If that’s not enough, there’s even a built-in mic for some serious multiplayer and squad action. This brings back childhood memories of Beast Busters for those who can still remember this hot arcade game back in the early 1990s, except that playback was on a CRT, in good old 2D.

Since the Alpha dSLR lineup already has a wide variety of lenses, we are guessing that there will be adapters available to fit current Sony optics onto the future mirrorless camera bodies. Also shown at the event are mockups of an Alpha DSLR-A700 replacement which seemingly comes with full-HD video-recording capability. According to Engadget, the snapper will utilize a new Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor to facilitate movie capture. For lens lovers, Sony unveiled a prototype of its 500mm F4 G optics which has an optical image stabilizer.
