New Battery Powered Bikes of Honda by 2010

August 30th, 2009

Honda_DN-01

well there has been a lot of  auto industry lately about electric cars, and moving towards fully electric platforms. Quietly, motorcycle companies have seen the writing on the wall, and have been exploring electric two-wheel applications for new models. KTM has promised to bring an electric bike by this time in 2010, and Quantya,DN01 has an electric dirt bike, the Strada already available for purchase.

Not to be left out on this one, Honda has announced that it has partnered with Yuasa to bring an electric bike line-up to their model range by the year 2010.

“Honda is currently developing a battery-powered electric motorcycle which emits no CO2 during operation. The company is aiming to introduce this electric motorcycle to the market about in two years from now,” says Takeo Fukui, Chairman and CEO of Honda Motor Co. “History shows that motorcycles remain strong in a difficult market environment and have always supported Honda in difficult times,” he adds.

Yuasa, maker of most motorcycle batteries, will be responsible for the development of the high-performance lithium-ion batteries necessary for the electric motorcycles. The two companies will jointly set up a research and development center, and a battery manufacturing facility near Kyoto in Japan. This joint venture is being funded to the tune of $18.5 million, with Honda holding a 49% stake in the company, and the rest being held by Yuasa. vice president as well as team members are working on it go give the best.

2010 World’s Most Efficient Solar Technology

August 28th, 2009

As long we waited for an commercial deployment of the world’s most efficient & powerful  solar technology that has appeared now near Phoenix, in a 1.5-megawatt, 60-unit deployment of Stirling Energy Systems’ solar thermal collectors. The major project will serve as a precursor to the deployment of  larger commercial projects previously announced in California and Texas that stats total more than 1,600 MW.The SunCatcher consists of a solar concentrator in a dish structure that consists of an array  curved glass mirrors. Iterations of the SunCatcher have been among the world’s most efficient machines for solar-to-grid electric conversion for twenty years, most recently breaking the record last year with the highest-ever conversion rate of 31.25%.

Which was announced last week, the 60-dish Maricopa Solar project will be the first commercial-solar scale facility built using Stirling Energy Systems/Tessera Solar’s SunCatcher concentrating on solar technology. “It’s going knock our new solar technology door,” said Sean Gallagher, vice president of marketing and regulatory affairs for Stirling Energy Systems, in an interview earlier this summer. Gallagher added that the credit crunch made a demo project more critical than before to win financial support. “We think that the lenders and investors are going to want to see more of a slice of a system operating and some data before they are willing to finance larger projects.” Finally the vice president and team members expecting this going to be a challenge in solar technology.

At its most it is am important spot, the heat produced is equivalent to a blistering 13,000 suns, “That’ll melt almost anything known to man,”  Sandia says National Laboratories’ engineer Chuck Andraka. “It’s incredibly hot.” Sandia has worked extensively on developing the new iteration of the technology. The SunCatcher is a 40-foot wide, 25-kilowatt-electrical (kWe) solar dish Stirling system designed to automatically track the sun and collect and focus solar energy onto a Power Conversion Unit (PCU), which then generates electricity and extreme powerful.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Now the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro: is the holy trinity of retro muscle car is now complete. Each car, being iconic in its own way, will have its own set of fanatical adherents regardless of how well it drives or what tech is available.  But the new Camaro has the biggest fan base; during our week with the car people stared, took pictures, came over to chat when we parked, and nearly hit us as they swerved over lanes to get a closer look.

Its bulging hood and broad rear fenders, the Camaro certainly makes an impression. Our test car was also equipped with the RS appearance package, giving it meaty 20-inch wheels and a rear spoiler. We didn’t think much of the fake wheel vents in the rear fenders, mere impressions in the sheet metal, as they have no practical purpose. But that’s a small concern when the Camaro’s bodywork makes it look like such a badass.

Chevrolet Camaro LT earns its highest points for design, showing an excellent modern take on an older body style that excites onlookers. That design extends into the cabin, which, despite some cheap materials, still looks good. Chevrolet also managed to fit complex music management into a small screen. The placement of the shifter buttons is the only notably bad thing about the design. For cabin tech, we have to dock it for no onboard navigation system, as OnStar isn’t quite as good as a full-fledged GPS device. And in general the car scores about average for cabin tech. Bluetooth and iPod integration are very useful features, but it doesn’t reach beyond those basics. On the performance side, we weren’t big fans of the automatic gearbox, but fortunately that is only an option. The 3.6-liter engine seems a good choice for this car, providing plenty of power, yet offering decent fuel economy at the same time. Totally this car gonna be the car of the year.
