Heart Scanning Within Five Heartbeats

May 21st, 2009

Imaging technologies like positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) can be combined for better diagnosis, according to Dr marcelo F.dicarli, associate professor of radiology at harvard medical school.

PET is a functional device, while CT is an analytical device. This combination helps clinicians to identify, measure and anlayse the problems be ability of machines that combine the two technologies made the things easier . Many application software used in PET/CT combo have been developed.

Paper-Thin Electronic Display

Siemens is developing a paper-thin electronic display so cheap that it could replace conventional labels on disposable packaging. This could tranform consumer-goods packaging from the fixed, ink-printed images of today to a digital medium of flashing graphic and text that displays prices, special offers or alluring photos— all blinking on miniature flat screens.

The display, composed of polymerbased photochromic material, shows digital text and images when prodded by an electrochemical reaction powered by a low-voltage charge. when the electric charge is removed , the chemical reaction is reversed, and the electronic ink is no longer visible, which is how a flashing effect is created. The power source is commercially available, ultra-thin batteries and the images are stored by electronic memory strips.

Yamaha RX-V665

The RX-V665 which falls smack in the middele of their AVR line-up is also the newest in the range and therefore bears a different fascia than what you might be used to seeing on Yamahas of 2008. The new look is not much different except for a slightly larger display, more leguble lettering and most prominently, the inclusion of four direct ‘ scene ‘ modes which are basically input source buttons hard-labelled as DVD,CD,TV and Radio.
This is a huge boob if yo, like us, have a 7.2 set-up. YPAo, another yamaha innovation to automatically calibrate the system is standard and works fairly accurately.
Although 90watts/pc might sound puny in print. in reality with moderately perfomance most of us will never use or need. In two channel stereo mode, which serves as the litmus test for any AVRs amplifier section, the RX-V665 faired well and displayed ample detail retrieval without sounding overtly foward like many of its like.
Where it matters, the yamaha doesn’t put a foot wrong and if you like the movies then there is no reason why the RX-V665 should not be on your shortlist. Denon is better built and the onkyo is easier to use but as an overall package with some really thoughtfull features, the Yamaha wins on overall score.
